Throwback Thursday

I’ve been trying to pull O kicking and screaming into the world of new and exciting music for awhile now but he’s just not having it. His heart’s not really in it. Don’t get me wrong, he’ll appease me by listening to the mixes I create for his iPod while he’s away on business trips and he never falls asleep as I expound on why hip hop is just as influential a genre as classical music in my opinion and he lets me bitch and rave about today’s country music and how it lacks everything that was good and pure and true in the classic cuts. He’s a good guy…really, really good considering music isn’t really his thing. But, he needs some attention here since he’s become a faithful reader and I’ve come up with a plan…Throwback Thursday!

Every Thursday (unless I get too busy or lazy) I’ll hunt up one or two of my favorite older tracks from days gone by and post them up for O and everyone else who’s trapped in a cosmic time warp and unable to branch out and embrace new music or for anyone who wants to take a trip down memory lane with me. It could be any genre, any decade, any artist…it’ll be a virtual smorgasbord of songs. I think it’ll be fun and Lord knows I have a kajillion old ass CD’s that I can blow the dust off of and choose from.

I’ll kick things off with an appropriate song for the occasion…

Salt-N-Pepa - "Whatta Man"

It's not like I hate new stuff it's that I'm resistant to change. Does this make me your blog muse or something?
