For Me, It's You...
Anyone who really knows me knows how much I love Train. They are my favorite band. I've followed them since before "Meet Virginia" hit it big and I've been devoted...not stalker devoted as in I have all the photos I've taken with them on the wall...but devoted nonetheless ever since. Their new album, For Me, It's You, drops on January 31st and I highly suggest you go out and pick yourself up a copy or two. I've had this on repeat since I got my hands on it and I don't see myself turning it off anytime soon.
In music as in life, I respect nothing so much as honesty and this is their most honest work to date. The 13 offerings on this album are genuine, sincere and personal and that shines through in the music. Pat has said that the record is definitely a reflection of what he's been through over the course of the past few years and that with the exception of the metaphorical "Cab", most of the songs are very to the point and literal in how they relate to his personal experiences. After all, he says..."You don't choose your experiences, they choose you." I could not agree more.Perhaps I'm enamored with this album because of the things I've experienced in the past few years...perhaps it's because I'm excited to hear new music from my favorite band...maybe I'm in need of a little more honesty in my life...maybe it's because this one is just that great. Who knows for sure. The one thing I do know for sure is that it's been a long time coming and I hope it reaches people on the same level that it has me.
